Peace

We recognize that as Christians part of our faith journey is to bring comfort to others (sometimes we must start with ourselves). We look at the words healing, peace, and forgiveness. How can you have forgiveness without healing or without peace? Each word individually is powerful yet used together then can truly transform a relationship, a family, a community, and in scripture — everything! The word peace comes from the Greek word EIRENE, the Greek equivalent for the Hebrew word SHALOM, which expresses the idea of wholeness, completeness, or tranquility in the soul that is unaffected by outward circumstances or pressures. This word is very common in the Hebrew language; in fact, many English speakers will know this word. It is a balance of harmony both physical and spiritual. This peace is something that can connect peace among community, among people. I love how the Psalm describes what Shalom can be; Psalm 85:10 — “Lovingkindness and truth has met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.”
