Faith

Faith with intention is vital. Faith does not just happen in our minds; it is a part of our full body. A deep faith propels us into a life of word and deed, a true partnership between us and God. This can be a balance of theological works vs. faith. Yet, as we develop a deeper faith, we have no choice but to live out our faith in actions. Faith is more than a descriptive word; it again is an action that we engage in. I often talk about how my faith can become a ‘head’ action — a list that I need to accomplish to practice my faith — yet it is important that we allow our head and our heart to combine in our action of faith. In Hebrew it comes from the same root word EMUN/ אמוך to trust something is true. In Greek it come from the noun PUSTUS and the verb PISTUEO — combined to man a firm persuasion, assurance, firm conviction — faithfulness. Scripture can depict faith as the ‘fear of God’ — this fear is not about being afraid of God; it is about trusting and being obedient to our faith. Genesis 20:11; Psalm 11:10; 2 Chronicles 20:20; Psalm 4:5; 1 Samuel 15:22; Jeremiah 7:23
