Mission

We see in scripture that we are called to go out and spread the message of Christ. The translation we are using is not the word mission, but the word to send. Where the authority rests on God to send and the obedience of the one that responds. In the Old Testament, this is seen in passages where the profits are called to answer God’s call and respond. Genesis 12:3: God promises Abraham that all people on Earth will be blessed through him. In Isaiah 49:6 — “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” In the New Testament, we can see this in many places, but it is best illustrated in the Great Commission, Matthew 28:16-20. Today as a church, we are focusing on how we can be mission-focused as a community and also in our daily lives.
