Passover

The very first Passover meal. Right before the Exodus of the Israelites escaping the Egyptian captivity, Moses gave the instructions to the Hebrews about how this ceremony meal should be observed at home. To have their families protected by the plague of death, they are to take an unblemished lamb and sacrifice it, wiping the blood of it over the doorpost. This practice, among others, is how the Lord will know to spare these houses where the faithful God-lovers live.
The sacrament of Holy Communion comes from the night when Jesus and his disciples shared their Passover supper in the Upper Room and Jesus made a new covenant by acknowledging these elements were now on representative of his body and blood.
