Grinch

This movie shows us what can happen to ourselves when we separate from community. This separation is not how God intended us to live. As we explore the aspects of this movie, we see how a community can remind us of what is truly important and how this community of love and acceptance can transform our hearts (even make it grow three sizes). The connecting scripture can be when people travel to the town to participate
in what has happened. There is a difference in people telling you about the birth of Jesus and experiencing this. After seeing with their own eyes they ‘made know what had been told about this child’. We see the Grinch’s transformation as he experiences joy on Christmas morning, when he expected sorrow. Yet, the joy prevails.
“Maybe Christmas (he thought) doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more.” — The Grinch
Special Note: Saturday’s 5:30 PM service will be a special service in the Sanctuary for our children to lead an entire worship service and act out the Nativity story.
