You’re invited to join Dr. Scott Engle in a new study through the Book of Jeremiah each Tuesday beginning September 15. You’re welcome to bring lunch or go out for a bite with friends after class. Come enjoy this in-depth Bible study to discover what Jeremiah has to teach us. Registration is not required. Come join us any time!

WORSHIP | Visio Divina
Thursday, September 10 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m. | Hasley Chapel | Free
Visio Divina, or holy seeing, is a way to pray with the eyes. At times, we struggle to pay attention and have difficulty seeing how God is present and working in our lives. Visio Divina uses a work of art or a movie segment, paired with a passage of scripture, to help us contemplate what God is asking us to look at, to trust him, and to show us that he is near. He encourages us to linger a while with both the Word and the image: to question him, to think about our feelings, and to consider his Word. Rev. Victor Resendiz will guide us through this visual encounter with both our world and our spiritual lives. Register here.

Voces8 US Scholars Mini-Concert

Every year, St. Andrew hosts the Voces8 Scholars for their first week of rehearsals and teaching outreach to local schools here in Plano. Voces8 has a large fanbase across the world, and they also have created their own community of musicians through their educational programming. The Scholars are an auditioned group of choral singers who perform together throughout the year, learn from brilliant choral directors and singers, and bring the Voces8 Method into schools. Come and hear the fruits of their first week together.

LEARN | Holly Stevens presents Pretty Reckless Part 2

Holly Stevens returns to finish “Pretty Reckless,” where she brings 1907 Dallas to life with tales of the bold and boundary-breaking women who made history loud, proud, and unforgettable. No need to have been present for part 1. Holly will summarize the earlier portion and continue the story! It surprises people to learn that the ideology underlying Islamic terror groups such as Al-Qaeda and Isis has a 700 year history. In this presentation, Phillip Haworth, St. Andrew’s Director of Tradition Worship and Music Associate will share practical examples of how AI assists with worship planning, music ministry, writing, communication, and creative problem-solving, while also exploring its limitations and the importance of human wisdom, discernment, and faith in the process.
